A Message from your NCDOA President

I have the honor to serve as
the president of the North Carolina D.A.R.E. Officer’s Association, an organization committed to promoting the Drug
Abuse Resistance Education program, and empowering North Carolina’s children with the skills needed to recognize and
resist the pressures that cause them to experiment with drugs, become involved in gangs, or engage in destructive behavior.
We look forward to serving
as your Board of Directors this year and meeting the complex challenges of training, educating, and assisting North Carolina
D.A.R.E. Officers in their mission. This year we will continue to build upon the strength of the Association
and its members by providing innovative training at the annual conference, improving communication, and establishing an officer
reporting system. We will further our efforts to effectively communicate by continuing to create a contact list for all North Carolina
D.A.R.E. Officers. Our Regional Trustees are currently contacting all agencies in order to compile and
update this information as changes are made. This year the Board of Directors will
also be assisting in the design and implementation of an officer reporting system in cooperation with the State Training Coordinator.
Statistical information gathered from the reporting system will be utilized to identify numbers of officers, programs,
and students, which will then be used to seek funding to improve the Association’s efforts. Thank you for visiting our website. I hope
you will continue to check back for upcoming events and important N.C.D.O.A. information. If you need any
further information please feel free to contact any of the board members. Respectfully, Lt. James Harrison, President NCDOA jharrison@ncdare.com
