$1000.00 Scholarship Award

Deadline: August 1, 2011

Guidelines for eligibility:        1. Minimum GPA of 2.5 for all four years of High School

2. Write a 700 word easy on how the D.A.R.E. Program influenced your life.

3. Submit 2 letters of recommendation reflecting that you are drug and violence free. 1 letter must be from a school Administrator and 1 letter from a community leader.

4. Applicant should have participated in volunteer work in their community prior to application being filed.

5. Applicant must show proof that they have met all requirements from the Department of Public Instruction for graduating high school.

6. Applicant must be a graduate from one the D.A.R.E. Curriculums, (either the Elementary, Middle, or High School D.A.R.E. Program).

7. Applicant’s D.A.R.E. Officer, who must be a member of the NCDOA, should submit the all applications. If your DARE Officer is no longer available check with the law enforcement agency where you had D.A.R.E. to make contact with the current Officer.
