At the March 14, 2008 NCDOA Board Meeting Lauryn Thomas was awarded the NCDOA Scholarship. She was presented the scholarship award by Caswell Co. Sheriff's Office DARE Officer Michael Adkins. She was also presented the Scholarship Winner Certificate by NCDOA President Willie Thomas. Her parents Mr. & Mrs. Marc Thomas were present at the meeting. Lauryn is a graduate from Bartlett Yancey High School in Yanceyville, N.C. She graduated with a 4.6 GPA and was involved in many extra curricula activities. Lauryn is currently a freshmen at Elon University and is Majoring in Psycology.

Jenny Ann Grubb is a 2005 graduate of Ash County High School.   Jenny will be

attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she plans to major

in pharmacy.  The D.A.R.E. scholarship was presented to Jenny by Larry Lambeth president

of the North Carolina DARE Officer's Association. 

Frances Wallace, a sophomore student at the University of North Carolina at

Chapel Hill receives a scholarship from  Scott Brown President of the

North Carolina DARE Officer's Association.  Frances is a graduate of

Myers Park High School and lives in Charlotte with her parents.
